ABOUT MEMBER PROFILES

How do I edit my profile?

  • To edit your profile, login using the Login/Log Out box in the upper right of the AWI Homepage. Once you're logged in click the My Profile link that appears in the Login/Log Out box.

  • From the My Profile page, click the Edit Profile tab to add, delete or edit your profile information.

  • When all editing is complete, be sure to click Save at the top or bottom of the Profile page. You'll see a Profile saved message at the top of the page.

How do I hide or unhide my profile or attributes?

  • Access the Edit Profile page (see FAQ “How do I edit my profile?” above)

  • Select the fields to “hide” by checking the box labeled “Private” on the far left side of the Edit Profile page. The fields left unchecked will be viewable. If you check all boxes as private, your name will appear in the directory with your membership standing and if you are an attorney or private investigator, your license number and the state in which you are licensed to practice.

  • If you check the box next to “Hide Profile from Search Results,” your profile will not be listed in the Directory, and it will not come up in any search that is conducted utilizing the search function in the Member Directory by an AWI member or by the public.

What do members of the public see when they pull up my profile?

  • By default, members of the public who search AWI’s website can access your name, your company name, your membership standing in AWI — “Member” or “Sustaining Member” — and your telephone number.  If you are an attorney or a private investigator they will also see the state in which you are licensed and your license number. You may restrict access to your phone number by designating it as private on the Edit Profile page (see FAQ “How do I hide or unhide my profile or attributes?” above).

Why can’t I edit certain fields in my profile?

  • There are certain fields in your profile, including your first and last name, which only the AWI Administrator is authorized to edit. Changes in those fields require AWI to update other information, so we need to know when that information is being changed. If there are fields you want to change in your profile that you are unable to change, contact the AWI office at office@awi.org or call 206-209-5278 for assistance.

How do I upload or change my photo to my profile?

  • To edit your photo, login as a member using the Login/Log Out box in the upper right of the AWI Homepage. Once you're logged in click the My Profile link that appears in the Login/Log Out box.

  • From the My Profile page, click the Edit Profile and then the Change Profile Picture link.

  • Your photo should be in jpg or png format, and the size must be 8 MB or smaller.

  • Click Browse and select the photo you want to upload from your computer. Click Upload.

  • The photo will appear on your screen with a cropping tool, which you can use to size as appropriate for the thumbnail  photo that will appear in the Member Directory listing. The full photo will appear in your profile. Once you have the thumbnail framed and sized, click Update Thumbnail. The cropped photo will appear in the Thumbnail box, below the Large Picture. Once you have the thumbnail as you want it, click Save Thumbnail. Saving the thumbnail also saves the page.

  • If you make any other profile edits, be sure to click Save to save your changes.

Why am I not receiving emails from a Listserv?

  • There are a few reasons you may not be receiving emails from a Listserv:

    • Your email server or host may be blocking emails from the Listserv(s).

    • You may not be subscribed to the Listserv.  To access and check your e-list subscription information, login as a member using the Login/Log Out box in the upper right of the AWI Homepage. Once you're logged in click the My Profile link that appears in the Login/Log Out box.

    • Your Listserv subscription may be turned off, or your email address may be listed incorrectly.  Continuing from the steps above, click on E-lists from the drop down menu (under My Features).  You should see links to the Announcements Listserv and the Discussions Listserv.  Next to each Listserv is the email address for the Listserv, and then a column labeled Email Delivery.  Email Delivery should be turned On.  The next column, E-list Email Address should have your current email address.  In the last column, there should be a red X between Edit and Unsubscribe.   If any of these columns are not configured in the way described, click on the Edit link.  In the Edit E-list box that opens, Email Delivery should be checked and the Notification Email Address should be your correct, current email address.  If you made any changes, be sure to click Save.

    • If these steps do not resolve the problem, please contact the AWI office at office@awi.org or call 206-209-5278 for assistance.

Can I post to a Listserv anonymously?

  • AWI members have the option of initiating a dialogue on the “Discussions Listserv” with an anonymous posting. All other postings will identify the author, including all subsequent dialogue in response to an anonymous initial Discussions Listserv posting. To make an anonymous initial posting, a member must send the proposed initial posting to listservadministrator@awi.org

Can I post non-AWI events to a Listserv?

  • Announcements or notices advertising non-AWI events may not be posted except for those events sponsored by an entity with which AWI has a reciprocal agreement. The Listserv is monitored and will not post such non-AWI event announcements.
