Saturday, November 5
6:30am - 7:45am
Walks begin and end at the Sofitel. Meet-up location TBA.
The guided walk on Saturday morning will take place along a lagoon, city streets and, primarily, the Bay Trail. A map of the route will be provided. The walks will be invigorating, at a medium speed. Distance covered will be approximately 1 ½ to 2 miles in length. Our leader will share the story of the Bay Trail in Redwood City and beyond, and will comment on the natural landscape (birds, wildlife, rays, etc.), as well as local places of interest. For example, participants will learn about the former outdoor amusement park by the lagoon and where to spot rays and jellyfish.
About the Walking Guide Corinne C. DeBra
Corinne started her career in Wash., D.C., and later worked for technology companies in Silicon Valley for many years. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and is based in Palo Alto, CA.
Corinne serves on the Bay Trail board and works with other environmental and energy-related nonprofits. She is also a member of the board for Pelican Media (San Francisco, CA)
In 2009 - 2011 she took a 1,000 mile walk around the Bay (through nine counties and 47+ cities). She followed what, at that time, were sections of both completed and planned Bay Trail sections, and documented her walk in photographs and on a website called Walking the Bay. She currently is on a second walk around the Bay.
