Walks begin and end at the Sofitel. Meet-up location TBA.

Guided Walks

The guided walk on Saturday morning will take place along a lagoon, city streets and, primarily, the Bay Trail. A map of the route will be provided. The walks will be invigorating, at a medium speed. Distance covered will be approximately 1 ½ to 2 miles in length. Our leader will share the story of the Bay Trail in Redwood City and beyond, and will comment on the natural landscape (birds, wildlife, rays, etc.), as well as local places of interest. For example, participants will learn about the former outdoor amusement park by the lagoon and where to spot rays and jellyfish.

In 2009 - 2011 she took a 1,000 mile walk around the Bay (through nine counties and 47+ cities). She followed what, at that time, were sections of both completed and planned Bay Trail sections, and documented her walk in photographs and on a website called Walking the Bay. She currently is on a second walk around the Bay.

For more information on Corinne’s 1,000 mile walk around San Francisco Bay, see her site, Walking the Bay (www.walking-the-bay.com).

Yoga

Yoga is a practice that is based on the relationship of opposites. As such, the overarching principle is where yoga students cultivate awareness and discipline to balance yin and yang of the body and mind, and effectively of everyday life. In this 75 minute Hatha class, students will be mindfully guided into building strength in a way that best supports the spine, as well as into stretching that is both sustainable and safe. Class will close with a short mindful meditation.
