Pamela Thomason is the California State University's first-ever Systemwide Title IX Compliance Officer. She oversees a population of 460,200 students, 24,405 faculty and 23,012 staff. CSU is the largest four-year public university system in the United States.

The focus of this session will be understanding the differences and similarities in Title IX sexual misconduct investigations and workplace discrimination and harassment investigations.

This is an AWI members-only event. It is free, but RSVP is required.

Pamela Thomason

In December 2014, Pamela Thomason became the California State University's first-ever Systemwide Title IX Compliance Officer. As such, she leads cross-functional efforts with the divisions of Academic and Student Affairs, Human Resources, General Counsel, and campus Title IX Offices to address issues of sex discrimination and sexual violence across the 23 CSU campuses. When she took the position she said, "The idea, as I understand it, is to oversee compliance of Title IX on all 23 campuses and to be a resource for the people on the campuses who are making sure each campus is safe for our students." Previously, Ms. Thomason served 14 years as the Sexual Harassment and Title IX Officer at UCLA. Before her employment at UCLA, she was the Regional Attorney for Los Angeles District Office of the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
