10th Annual Conference Speaker Proposals — Deadline extended to April 1

AWI is accepting proposals for presentations for the 10th Annual AWI Conference. The 2019 conference will be in held in Marina del Rey, California, from September 26 to 28.

Do you want to share your expertise, connect with your peers, and contribute to the advancement of the quality and integrity of workplace investigations? AWI encourages professionals who wish to share their knowledge and expertise in the field of workplace investigations to submit a proposal to speak at the 2019 AWI Annual Conference. AWI membership is not required but sessions must be educational for attendees, not promotional for presenters’ services.

Subject matter experts from fields that inform workplace investigations are encouraged to submit proposals. Updates on legal developments, investigation processes and protocols, record retention, and other current trends or changes related to investigations are popular topics.

The deadline for proposals is Monday, April 1.

If selected to present at the AWI Annual Conference, I agree to the following:
-To not make changes to the program title, program description or substantive written materials or presenters without prior discussion with and approval of the AWI Annual Conference Committee.
-To work closely with the AWI Annual Conference Committee before the conference and meet all established deadlines and guidelines.
-To honor AWI's status as an approved provider of continuing professional education through MCLE and HRCI by providing substantive written program materials that support the selected topic and by not promoting or selling any products or services during the presentation (even subtly) or in the supporting resource materials.
-If requested, to participate in conference calls as needed with the AWI Annual Conference Committee to review the content and delivery of the presentation.
-To remain in regular contact with any co-presenters and ensure their submission of all necessary releases, bios, photos and all other program materials requested by the AWI Annual Conference Committee.

For valuable, non-monetary consideration, the receipt and adequacy of which are hereby acknowledged, the undersigned ("Presenter") acknowledges, consents, agrees, represents and warrants as follows:

Presenter agrees that the Association of Workplace Investigators, Inc., and its successor corporation, ("AWI") may use Presenter's name, voice, likeness and biographical information in promoting the program identified above ("Program") and/or the written materials submitted by Presenter in connection with the program ("Materials") and in promoting any additional use of the Program or Materials by AWI.

Presenter grants AWI a non-exclusive license to reproduce, publish, display, promote and distribute the Materials as it deems appropriate, including distribution of the Materials through the internet or other means of digital distribution, to the full extent that Presenter has authority to grant such a license. Presenter further agrees that AWI may rent or sell copies of such materials without providing Presenter with monetary compensation.

With the exception of the written materials identified below, Presenter represents and warrants that: (a) the Materials provided by Presenter are (i) original works for which Presenter is the proprietor of all rights of republication, (ii) works for which Presenter has full authority to grant republication rights, or (iii) works that are in the public domain; (b) AWI's republication of such work(s) would not violate or infringe on any personal or property rights of others, whether common law or statutory; (c) such work(s) contain nothing libelous; and (d) such work(s) contain no material from other copyrighted or unpublished works that has been used without the written consent of the copyright owner and owner of any other rights in such works. Presenter agrees to provide AWI with any such written consent(s) as it may reasonably require.

Presenter represents that he/she does not have complete authority to grant republication rights or has not obtained written consent from the copyright owner(s) for the following materials (identified by author(s) and title):

Presenter agrees that AWI may broadcast the program identified above over the internet or other means of digital distribution and that AWI may use Presenter's name, voice, likeness and biographical information in promoting the broadcast.

(a) AWI may create audio and/or video recordings of the program identified above for which which Presenter is a speaker ("Recordings");
(b) AWI will have a non-exclusive license to reproduce, rebroadcast, publish, display, promote and distribute the Recordings as it deems appropriate , including to distribute the Recordings over the internet or other means of digital distribution;
(c) AWI may play, rebroadcast, rent or sell the Recordings without providing Presenter with monetary compensation; and
(d) AWI may use Presenter's name, voice, likeness and biographical information in promoting such use of the Recordings.
