The keynote address, Spy the Lie: A Former CIA Officer Teaches You How to Detect Deception, will be presented by Michael Floyd. It is titled after the 2012 New York Times bestseller Mr. Floyd co-authored, a copy of which will be included in the conference materials for each participant. Mr. Floyd is also the co-author of the forthcoming Get the Truth: Former CIA Officers Teach You How to Persuade Anyone to Tell All, scheduled for publication in March, 2015.
AWI's Annual Conference Committee, headed by Boston Attorney Julie Moore and Denver Attorney Elizabeth Rita, has put together an impressive group of 18 speakers who are experts in their fields, and will be speaking on a variety of topics related to workplace investigations.
The program begins at 1 pm Thursday afternoon, November 13 with an optional pre-conference workshop, Achieving Excellence in Investigative Report Writing, with 3.25 hours of HRCI and California MCLE credit approved, followed by an optional networking dinner on Thursday evening.
The main conference program begins at 8:30 am on Friday, November 14, followed by an optional networking reception Friday evening. The conference continues on Saturday, November 15, beginning at 8:00 a.m. and concluding at 12:30 pm, followed by AWI's Annual Meeting of Members. 10.5 hours of HRCI and California MCLE credit, including 1 hour of California MCLE credit in legal ethics, are approved for the main conference.
The conference fee, which includes two continental breakfasts, breaks, and the Friday luncheon, is $400 for AWI members and $525 for non-members for early registration. The pre-conference and conference package early registration fee is $525 for members and $650 for non-members. The conference and package fees increase $100 after October 30. The advance registration fee for the Thursday networking dinner and bus is $50. The advance registration fee for the Friday networking reception and bus is $20.
